Problem:
Integrity EPC Client hired a pipeline construction contractor to install a new pipeline system for their business needs. DOT requirements and NACE recommended best practices state a joint coating must be used to prevent external corrosion and support cathodic protection. Client requested a 3rd party inspection to oversee the application of the coating epoxy at the joints being performed by the contractor. Inspection support needed to follow DOT and NACE guidelines.
Approach and Solution:
Integrity EPC supplied resources at the job site with multiple years of experience within the pipeline inspection space. IEPC resources had the required certifications and credentials to ensure the joint epoxy was being applied pursuant to DOT requirements, NACE recommended best practices, and the epoxy product data sheet specifications.
Execution:
Integrity EPC resources were available to meet client schedule demands while ensuring DOT requirements, NACE recommended best practices, and product data sheet specifications were still being followed. This was all performed safely utilizing proper PPE and attending JSAs every morning before the start of the job. Inspection documentation was completed and supplied to the appropriate resources at the end of each job to be submitted into the final job books.
Result:
Pipeline joint coating inspections were and are still being performed to meet DOT requirements, NACE recommended best practices, and product data sheet specifications for the Client. Inspections are being performed safely while still meeting the budget and schedule restraints of the Client.
